A bright spark who brings bounds of energy to the pitch is Kane Drummond. The young forward joined Latics in July on a permanent deal following a loan spell last season.

Drummond came through the ranks at Liverpool and was released in 2017 and following that joined the Robbie Fowler academy, until being picked up by non-league outfit Warrington Rylands in Summer 2019, where he made a promising start to his career in senior football. Netting 10 times in the first few months of the season.

In the beginning of 2020, it would be announced that Drummond would be the first ever contracted player to the Rylands and this decision would prove to be a good one, as his impressive goal scoring form continued into the season 2021/22, bagging 18 times as the Rylands secured promotion to the Northern Premier Division; and was subsequently named Northern Premier League West player of the season.

In the latter stages of the year, Macclesfield came calling for Drummond and offered him a contract, which he accepted and went on to achieve back-to-back promotions with the Silkmen. Following the end of the 2023/24 season, Macclesfield offered Drummond a new contract, which he declined following an offer from freshly promoted side Chesterfield on a one-year deal.

Since joining Latics, he has impressed fans and the manager with his pace and energy on the pitch, further showcasing his style of play.
