Mathew Hudson signed for Latics in December 2022 before signing a new contract the following summer.

Hudson, who was at Preston North End until the previous season, joined Oldham having spent time with National League North side Buxton.

The goalkeeper is a product of the Preston Academy, making his first-team debut as a teenager, coming on in place of Jordan Pickford in a game against Leeds in 2015.

He also spent time out on loan with Bury and Bamber Bridge, making four appearances for both sides.

Hudson was released by Preston in the summer of 2022, and spent the first few months of the season with Buxton. He established himself as Latics’ first-choice goalkeeper during the 2023/24 season.
