The 27-year-old former Everton youngster who has also featured for Tranmere and Wrexham, arrived at Boundary Park on a one-year contract.
Tollitt spent the previous two seasons at AFC Fylde, scoring 17 goals from wide areas including a hat-trick against Chorley last January as he made a good impression on the club.
Having started out at Everton, he made 12 substitute appearances for Portsmouth before returning to the north west with Tranmere.
After appearing 23 times on loan, he made a further year-and-a-half at Prenton Park, scoring a total of 18 times and was part of the squad that earned promotion from the National League in 2018.
He also spent a season at Blackpool, in addition to two loans at Wrexham, before moving to Fylde in the summer of 2020.
