Oldham Athletic secured the services of midfielder Ollie Banks in 2016 following his release from Chesterfield.
The midfielder signed a two-year contract with the club until 2018.
Banks began his career with Rotherham United, scoring on his professional debut in May 2011. While with Rotherham he spent loan spells at a number of non-league clubs.
He made a total of 18 appearances for FC United of Manchester in all competitions and while playing semi-professionally for them, he also worked part-time as a kitchen fitter.
In September 2013, Banks signed a professional contract with Chesterfield and in November 2013, he received the Football League’s Young Player of the Month award.
He went on to make 99 appearances for the Spireites, scoring 13 goals before joining Latics.
Banks made 43 appearances for Athletic in his first season and contributed three goals including two goal of the season contenders against Carlisle United and Charlton Athletic.
