Striker Timmy Abraham has completed a move to Oldham Athletic on loan until 1 January.

The 21-year-old, who can also operate as a wide player, arrives at Boundary Park from Walsall, a club he joined in the summer after three years at Fulham.

Abraham, the brother of England striker Tammy, has recently had loans at clubs including Bristol Rovers and Newport.

“Timmy brings some much-needed pace to the side, physicality and an outstanding work-rate,” said manager David Unsworth.

“He’s someone I’ve been aware of for a long time since his days at Fulham and I’ve followed his career since then.

“He’s a really good lad and he will offer us vital energy and pace at the top of the pitch.”

Abraham was schooled in the academy at Charlton Athletic before moving to Fulham at the age of 19.

He initially played for the U18 squad at Craven Cottage before earning a scholarship before becoming a key member of their team in PL2.

Abraham scored twice in five EFL Trophy games for Fulham U23s, with his goals coming against Wycombe and Stevenage.

After appearing four times for Bristol Rovers on loan, he then had a spell at Plymouth before featuring in the Scottish Championship for Raith during the latter part of the 2020/21 season.

Last July, he made another loan switch, this time to Newport, where he scored three goals, including the winner against Ipswich in the Carabao Cup First Round and against Swindon in the next round.

After leaving Fulham, he linked up again with former Newport boss Michael Flynn, now at Walsall, signing a one-year contract during the summer after a successful trial at the Bescot Stadium.

Timmy’s squad number will be confirmed shortly. His move is subject to the relevant FA and National League clearance.

Welcome to Latics, Timmy!
