Oldham Athletic are pleased to announce the signing of Otis Khan on a one-year-deal.

The 28-year-old joins Latics with plenty of EFL experience after spending time at Yeovil, Tranmere, Grimsby and Mansfield.

A midfielder with an attacking outlook, his best spell was with the Glovers, scoring 12 goals in 67 appearances.

On joining Latics, Otis said “It's been a long time coming I'm really delighted to get this done.

"I've been training with the group for three/four weeks now, getting to know how the manager operates and how the players are, and it's been nothing but positive.

"I like to go forward, contribute with goals and assists having an effect on the game and getting fans out of their seats.

"It's a strong squad, I can see nothing but good things happening here and hopefully it will be a successful one for all."

Otis began his career at Manchester United at youth level before joining Sheffield United, making his senior debut against Crawley Town in March 2014.

In his three years at the Blades, Otis gained valuable experience out on loan playing for Buxton, Matlock and Barrow where registered four goals in eight appearances in his spell there.

He joined Yeovil in 2016 where he spent two seasons, before joining Mansfield where he scored a brace on his debut against Newport County.

Otis had spells at Newport, Tranmere, Walsall, Leyton Orient before joining Grimsby Town in 2022 where he was a part of the team that made the quarterfinals of the FA Cup, starting in the 5-0 defeat to Brighton.

In November 2023,  he was deemed eligible to represent Pakistan and captained the side for the first time in their World Cup Qualifier against Saudi Arabia, since then he’s gone to make nine appearances for the nation.

Manager Micky Mellon was delighted to finally get the deal over the line.

"He's been with us all pre-season and he's exactly the type of player we want to have in that midfield area," he said.

"We want a certain type of profile of player, someone who's technical, works hard and has a great attitude to want to play for Oldham. Otis brings all of that to the group.

"There a lot of tough games in the National League, and we want to try and consitently put teams out high in energy and high in abiity so players like Otis allow us to do that."

Otis will wear the number 33 shirt.
