Quigley Joins Attack
First Team
7 August 25
Oldham Athletic are pleased to announce the signing of striker Joe Quigley on a two-year deal.
The 6’4 forward joins from Forest Green Rovers, where he helped the Gloucestershire side to a third-place finish last season.
Quigley brings a wealth of experience to Boundary Park, having featured for several clubs across the EFL and National League, including Chesterfield, Yeovil Town, and Forest Green.
His career began at AFC Bournemouth, where he spent eight years as a youth and professional. During his time with the Cherries, Quigley had loan spells with the likes of Wrexham, Woking, Gillingham and others, gaining valuable senior experience across the pyramid.

A permanent move came in 2018 when he joined Maidstone United, but a change in management saw him transfer-listed and sign for Bromley shortly after. He scored once in eight appearances for the Ravens, with further loan stints at Eastbourne Borough where he netted three in five and Havant & Waterlooville.
In 2019, he signed for Dagenham & Redbridge, scoring six goals in 34 appearances during a solid season at Victoria Road.
It was at Yeovil Town where Quigley found form. He hit 13 goals in 41 games in his first campaign, followed by another 7 in 20 the following season. His performances earned him a move to Chesterfield in January 2022 for an undisclosed fee.
Over two seasons with the Spireites, he made 109 appearances and scored 22 goals, including two against Latics in separate meetings.
Last season, Quigley made the switch to Forest Green Rovers and played a key role in their play-off campaign, before making the move to Oldham this summer.

Speaking after signing, Quigley said: “I’m buzzing to be here. As soon as I spoke to the manager, I knew this was a club heading in the right direction.
"Boundary Park’s a tough place to come as an opponent so now I’m looking forward to calling it home.
"I want to play a big part this season and help push the team on.”
Manager Micky Mellon added: “Joe’s a handful for defenders and someone who we feel can push us on as a team.
"He brings presence, experience, and a real desire to contribute.
“He’s a great lad and we’re really pleased to have him on board.”
Welcome to the club, Joe!
This move is subject to FA approval.
