Oldham Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of Jamie Robson on a two-year deal from Forest Green Rovers.

The 27-year-old arrives with strong EFL experience and a reputation as a consistent performer over the past two seasons.

Robson was a regular at Forest Green, making over 50 appearances in each of the last two campaigns.

He also scored four goals and provided four assists last campaign, making the National League team of the season.

A product of the Scottish youth system, Robson started out at Coupar Angus Boys Club and had spells with Dundee and Rangers before joining Dundee United’s academy in 2011.

He signed his first professional contract three years later and made his senior debut in September 2015.

He gained valuable first-team experience on loan at Brechin City in 2016, scoring twice in six games, before returning to Dundee United and establishing himself as a key player.

He went on to make 173 appearances for the club.

In 2021, he made the move to join Lincoln City, featuring regularly in League One before switching to Forest Green in January 2023.

Since then, Robson has made 127 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals.

Speaking after putting pen to paper, Robson said:

“I’m really excited to be here and get started.

"Oldham’s a big club with a lot of ambition, and after speaking to the manager, it was clear this was the right place for me.

"I want to play a big part in helping the team push on this season.”

Manager Micky Mellon added:

“Jamie’s someone I’ve admired for a while, he’s got real energy, uses the ball well, and is a real good player.

"He brings a good level of experience and fits exactly what we need in his position.

"We’re really pleased to get him in and hope he can show the quality he has.”

Welcome to the club, Jamie!

This move is subject to FA approval.
