Poppy Corner Flag Auction

Oldham Athletic, in partnership with the Oldham Athletic Veterans and Armed Forces Supporters Group, are auctioning the poppy corner flags used in the game against Crewe, with all proceeds going to support Mahdlo Youth, a local charity dedicated to empowering young people.

Steve, from the Veterans Group, shared some insight into the bidding so far: “We initially started off with several bids of £50, however a £100 bid for one of the flags was added to the mix. 

"This created a rush of bids, which are increasing by the day. 

"At one point, all flags had bids of £100 each, so I decided to create an order, the first bid at the top, the last bid at the bottom, with exceeding bids bumping the lower names off. 

"It seems the fairest way to do things.”

All bids must be submitted by 11:59pm on 9 December, ahead of the Walsall game on 10 December, where the flags will be handed over. 

A ‘mega’ cheque presentation will take place on the day, featuring Su Schofield, Claire from Mahdlo, and Garry (Co-founder of the Veterans Group).
