Oldham Athletic are pleased to announce the signing of Joe Pritchard on a deal until 2 June.

He joins Latics after mutually terminating his contract with MK Dons where he made four appearances for the club.

A versatile player, Joe can operate in positions all along the midfield with the left side being his predominant. He has also played in defence providing cover when needed.

On joining Athletic, Joe said: “I’m delighted to sign, I’ve been down south but the opportunity to come back up north was perfect for me.

“I’m just really excited to play football again, I’ve had a year where I’ve not played as many games as I would have liked so this is a great chance for me.

“I knew I was trying to get out of MK for a while, but the move was probably done within two or three days so it was fairly quick.

“I’m agile, electric and versatile. I work hard and like to get forward and score goals but I’ll do anything needed to help this team get the success it deserves.

“I can play in multiple positions, I can use both feet, and I feel I’m quite tactically aware of the game which I feel can be a big benefit for the group.”

Pritchard’s career began at Tottenham, joining the academy in July 2013. He spent five years in the Whites’ set-up before being released in 2018.

The following summer, Joe joined Bolton Wanderers on a free transfer. He made his debut against Cardiff in February 2019 and went on to make a further three appearances in the Championship that season.

In the summer window of 2019, Accrington Stanley came calling for Joe’s services, and he joined the club on a two-year-deal with an option to extend.

Straight away he became a regular in the Stanley line-up, becoming a keen fan favourite.

He helped to maintain Stanley’s League One status for three seasons before relegation in the 2022/23 season.

In his five year spell he made 112 appearances, scoring 18 goals before in July 2024 he joined MK Dons on a free transfer.

In an EFL fixture away to Watford, Joe made his debut but then found game time hard to come by and after only four appearances his contract was mutually terminated in order to join Latics.

Manager Micky Mellon said: “Joe is a very versatile player who can operate in multiple positions, so we’re pleased to bring him in.

“With the injuries we have and the amount of games coming in, competition and squad depth are essential

“Joe has serious qualities and he’s a player that can hurt teams out on the wings.

“I’ve always said if the quality becomes available and we think it suits we will do our utmost to get that player and we’ve done that with Joe.

He will wear the number 29 shirt.

Welcome to the club, Joe.
