First Team
13 January 25
Oldham Athletic are pleased to announce the loan signing of goalkeeper Jake Dennis until June 30.
Goalkeeper Dennis, 20, who joined Cardiff City’s Academy at eight years old, links up with the Latics squad ahead of the weekend’s match against Aldershot Town.
The shot-stopper has spent his career at Cardiff City, making several appearances in the Welsh Cup and FA Youth Cup. After impressing at youth level, Jake has featured several times in the first-team squad.
Jake said: “I’ve been at Cardiff since I was eight years old so I've been there through all the years, and last season I had my first taste of men’s football which I enjoyed so I think it's the right step now to come here and progress my career.
“When I first heard about the opportunity to join Oldham I was really excited. It’s a great club with a big history and it's a great chance for me to come up here and prove myself as a goalkeeper.
“ I want to play games but I understand I've got to be patient, it’s about the experience of being around such a big club and the matchdays and the day-to-day training.”

Jake has progressed through the youth set-up at Cardiff, earning a reputation as a talented young goalkeeper.
The Swansea-born keeper spent time on loan Gloucester City last season, making his debut against South Shields in February.
He has also made two appearances for Wales U19s and joins the existing group of goalkeepers at Latics.
Manager Micky Mellon said: “We have two very talented goalkeepers in our squad already and Jake provides further competition.”
“We’ve heard a lot of positive things and Cardiff rate him very highly. We’re always looking to add quality and competition to the squad at any time so when Jake became available we were pleased.
“Scott Davies and I have had a conversations and we are pleased to bring a good young goalkeeper to the ranks”.
Jake will wear the number 13 shirt.
Welcome to the club, Jake.
