
Fondop Signs New Deal

Oldham Athletic is pleased to announce that striker Mike Fondop has signed a new two‑year contract, securing his future at Boundary Park until the summer of 2027.
The 31‑year‑old Cameroonian forward, who arrived in January 2022 from Hartlepool United on a free transfer, has since become a key figure in the Latics side in recent years and a hugely popular figure amongst the supporters.
Fondop has featured in 125 matches for Oldham, scoring 45 goals along the way.
In the 2024–25 season alone, he contributed 20 goals and seven assists in 51 appearances .

His influence at Oldham is undeniable, key goals in the 2024–25 play‑off campaign helped the club secure National League promotion, and his leadership was further recognized when he was honoured as both Supporters’ Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year for the season.
Fondop’s new deal reflects not only his impressive time at Latics but also his commitment to the club and professionalism
Speaking after signing his new contract, Fondop said: “I’m delighted to extend my stay here.
"Oldham feels like home to me and the support I’ve received from the fans and everyone at the club has been incredible.
"I was always going to be staying, I have shared so many achievements and accomplishments here, I just love this club.
"We’ve shared some great moments together already, and I’m excited to see what we can achieve over the next two years.”

"His goals, work rate, and character have been vital in driving the team forward.
"He was a key figure for us last season on and off the pitch and helped us achieve that common goal of promotion.
"Securing him on a new deal was a big priority this summer, and we’re all looking forward to seeing him continue to lead the line for us.”
