Latics return to Boundary Park this week for two important fixtures, following back-to-back wins in the FA Cup and the league.

First up, the VERTU Motors Trophy tie against Bolton Wanderers tomorrow offers manager Micky Mellon the chance to rotate the squad and give vital minutes to players who need it the most.

It’s an opportunity to maintain momentum while keeping the squad fresh ahead of a tough league encounter.

Then on Saturday, it’s League Two action against Crewe Alexandra, a side currently pushing towards the play-offs and coming off a 3-1 win against Shrewsbury.

Crewe have been playing some good football this season, starting with four straight victories but hitting a patch of mixed results since.

They sit just one point off third in a very tightly packed division, so fans can expect a challenging game.

With Lee Bell at the helm, the Railwaymen’s mix of youth and experience should make for an exciting contest at Boundary Park.

Latics showed what they can produce against League One side Northampton Town, followed by a gutsy, gritty display against Harrogate, highlighting both sides to what the team can do.

Tickets are still available for both games. Get down to Boundary Park, get behind the lads, and be part of what promises to be a big week for the lads.
