Silver Latics will return on Wednesday 26 November, in the Broadway Suite for its latest session.

Originally launched by the club and the Oldham Athletic Community Trust, Silver Latics is aimed at those within the local community aged 55 and over. It provides a free opportunity for those to stay warm, enjoy a hot meal, and socialise with others at Boundary Park.

In recent sessions, Frank Rothwell OBE (Club Chairman) and former players and current youth coaches, Danny Philliskirk (Youth Team Manager) and Chris Taylor (FCE Head Coach) have delivered talks and welcoming returning and new supporters.

This month, the joint Club and Trust initiative will welcome former Latics Marketing Director and Owner, Sean Jarvis.

After starting his career at a Leeds-based advertising agency, Sean started out as the club's Marketing Manager in 2000 before purchasing the club four years later from Chris Moore.

His extensive career has seen him take director roles at other sporting institutions such as Huddersfield Town for nearly 14 years and most recently stepping down as Chief Executive Officer of Leicestershire County Cricket Club.

Sean will be joined by both Club and Community Trust CEOs, Darren Royle and Sandy Mitchell. With doors opening from 10.45am before the session starts 11am.

Silver Latics has recently featured on ITV's EFL Highlights Show as part of the league's Week of Action campaign. Click on the video below to watch the segment in full.

Ahead of September’s return, Martin Vose (Head of Community – OACT) commented: "The project has grown month on month, with over 40 people attending our sessions towards the end of last season.

"Our aims for this season is to continue to provide the opportunity at visit Boundary Park every month while tying the initiative in with wider community engagement opportunities whereby we take the project out to those within our community."

Barry Johnston, who helped the club’s Supporter Liaison Officer in organising the Silver Latics events last season, had been following Latics for over 50 years.

On the initiative, Barry said: "This is a great initiative that hopefully will grip the imagination of some of the fans who have followed the club loyally for many years.

"It's an opportunity for us to get together and reminisce about the club, as well as the chance to say hello to both old and new friends in a relaxed and comfortable environment. I'm really looking forward to seeing some faces that I haven't seen for a long time."
