Remembrance Fixture 2025
Club News
12 November 25
On Saturday 15 November, our home game against Crewe will serve as the club’s annual remembrance fixture.
Ahead of kick-off, tributes will be paid to those whose lives have been lost and affected by serving their country in conflict, and we will be joined by military personnel past and present in the act of remembrance.
Both teams will enter the field of play at 2.55pm, accompanied by representatives from the Royal British Legion, Royal Air Force Air Cadets and more.
Poppy wreaths will be presented to both team captains before the referee signals the start of the Act of Remembrance.
During the Exhortation, the captains will lay their wreaths on the centre circle and a bugler will perform The Last Post.
All standards will be lowered during the performance and all uniformed personnel in attendance will salute. A minute’s silence will then be observed by everyone inside Boundary Park.
The bugler will then play Reveille for 20 seconds, during which all standards will be raised once again. The referee will sound his whistle to bring the ceremony to a close, before Royal British Legion representatives collect the wreaths and march off the pitch.
