Same again for Latics

Latics named an unchanged starting line up for tonight's opening home npower League One game of the season against Walsall.

Paul Dickov resisted the temptation to make changes following Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Milton Keynes Dons.

Latics' manager was still without the injured James Wesolowski and David Mellor which restricted his options to make changes.

Walsall, beaten 3-0 at home by Doncaster Rovers on Saturday, included former Latics player Dean Holden in their side as they, too, looked for their first league points of the campaign.

Latics (4-4-2): Cisak; Byrne, Tarkowski, M'voto, Grounds; Croft, Furman, M'Changama, Montano; Simpson, Slew. Subs: Brown, Bouzanis, Smith, Taylor, Millar, Hughes, Winchester.

Walsall (4-4-1-1): Grof; Purkiss. Butler, Holden, J Chambers; Paterson, Featherstone, A Chambers, Hemmings; Cuvelier; Grigg. Subs: Jones, Bowerman, Williams, Benning, Downing, Walker, Baxendale.
