Fine win for under-16's

Latics under-16's produced a solid performance to beat Preston North End 3-2.

It was a deserved victory according to manager Chris Rowney.

Latics' goals came from Ben Hulme, Aaron Holton and a trialist.

THE under-15's were beaten 5-4 by Preston following an exciting match.

Latics never got started and failed to reach the level of performance from previous weeks.

Kai Hilton scored twice for Latics whose other goals came from Harry Quick and Joe Simms.

THE under-15's paid the price for a poor start as they lost 2-1 against Preston.

Latics conceded two goals in the opening 10 minutes.

Goalkeeper Elliot Wynne prevented a third goal saving a twice taken penalty both times.

Callum Hughes halved the deficit in the second half and Charles Akande had a chance to equalise in the last minute but headed wide at the near post.

LATICS under-14's collapsed in the third quarter conceding three goals as the lost 4-1 to Preston.

Brad Kay had earlier given Latics hope making it 1-1 with a long-range shot.

TWO goals from Mwiya Malumo could not prevent the under-13's from losing 5-2 at Preston.

Malumo's performance was described as outstanding but Latics' display was disapointing.

NIALL DOLAN scored twice for the under-10's who were beaten 3-2 in a nine-versus-nine game.

Latics twice came from behind, but failed to do so on the third occasion.
