Winchester's "brilliant experience"

Carl reflects on his biggest game

Carl Winchester described it as a "brilliant experience" to play for Northern Ireland under-21's against England last night at Blackpool's Bloomfield Road.

"To play against the likes of Jordan Henderson, Josh McEachran and Connor Wickham was unbelievable, even though we lost. This was definitely the biggest game I have played in," he said.

Winchester (pictured) says the idea of playing him wide right for his country is to try to get him on the ball and to make things happen.

He was pleased with the way Northern Ireland acquitted themselves against England despite suffering a 2-0 defeat.

Winchester continued: "We have a young team and I think 13 of us can play in the next Euro's and we are trying to build for the future.

"I think we will have a really strong team for the next campaign."
