Jordan reels in Cod Army
Jordan Bove scored twice as Latics under-18's defeated Fleetwood Town 3-0 at Chapel Road in the Football League Youth Alliance's North West Conference.Kyle Hardman also found the net in a display against the Cod Army which delighted coach Mick Priest.
"After a few disappointing results recently, it was a pleasing and much improved performance. We were more dynamic, more positive and more aggressive performance," he said.
Apart from the goals, the clean sheet was also a bonus with keeper Joel Coleman and the back four rarely troubled.
Latics took the lead midway through the opening half with a low shot by Hardman from the edge of the box.
They doubled their advantage on the hour when the Town keeper parried a shot and Bove (pictured) smashed home the rebound.
Will Kinder, back after a long illness, and Jack Truelove combined to set up Latics' third goal with 15 minutes left as Bove scored with a side-foot shot from nine yards out.
