Staff dazzle in fans' match

2 August 2013

Eight-goal win

Latics' staff dazzled as they emerged 8-3 winners against the fans last night in the annual challenge at Boundary Park.

There were two goals apiece for new fitness coach Lee Steele and Kyle Riley who works for the Community Trust.

Manager Lee Johnson, first-team coach Paul Murray and former player Jack Poxon also found the net while there was also an own goal for the staff side which also included chairman Simon Corney.

The fans were given a three-goal start which meant that new goalkeeper coach Bobby Mimms kept a clean sheet as he rolled back the years to his Premier League days at Everton, Tottenham and Blackburn Rovers.

The event raised around £2,000 for club funds.
