Yeovil win play-off final
Latics' manager Lee Johnson is tonight joining his father Gary and his Yeovil staff for their celebrations after they won promotion to the npower Championship.Lee (pictured) was at Wembley this afternoon to watch his former club Yeovil defeat Brentford 2-1 in the npower League One play-off final.
And Lee says the footballing fairytale - Yeovil were a non-league side a decade ago - ought to inspire clubs like Latics.
Yeovil will be playing in the Championship next season with average attendances in the current campaign of just 4,240 - Latics' average was 4,142 - and one of the lowest budgets in the division.
Lee said: "It has been fantastic and an unbelievable day.
"It just goes to show if you get a good group of players anything is possible.
"It is an unbelievable achievement for a club of that size.
"We all hope and dream we can push on at the top end of the table like Yeovil have done."
