Defensive duo back for Latics

27 September 2013

Grounds, Kusunga recover from injury

Defensive duo Jonathan Grounds and Genseric Kusunga have recovered from injury to be named in Latics' squad for tomorrow's SkyBet League 1 match at Crawley Town.

Grounds (pictured) picked up a dead leg in last Saturday's home game against Crewe Alexandra.

Kusunga, meanwhile, pulled out of that match through a tight hamstring which he felt after training last Friday.

Grounds and Kusunga will reinforce Latics' back line with Glenn Belezika providing a further defensive option as he is back following a loan spell at Salisbury City.

Latics will be without Cristian Montano, however, as the winger has had surgery to drain a cyst and, while the wound is healing well, he is not ready to return at The Broadfield Stadium.

David Mellor serves the second of a three-match ban while Connor Brown remains out long term with a knee injury.

Squad: Oxley, Grounds, Wesolowski, Kusunga, Tarkowski, Schmeltz, Smith, Rooney, MacDonald, Clarke-Harris, Winchester, Rodgers, Lanzoni, Dayton, Millar, Belezika, Mills, Joksts, Philliskirk, Rachubka.
