Polyflor Continue Community Trust Partnership

12 August 2016

Polyflor Continue Community Trust Partnership.

Local company Polyflor have again this week committed their support to Oldham Athletic Community Trust by signing up as partners for the Premier League Kicks project for the second consecutive year as well as re-affirming their sponsorship of the Boundary Blues for a fourth season in a row.

As a major employer within the local area at their Salmon Fields facility in Royton, Polyflor continues to be a global leader in the manufacture of vinyl floorcoverings for both refurbishment and new build projects in commercial and residential sectors.  Working closely with a network of contractors, specifiers, end users and distributors across the world, Polyflor closely understands and meets the needs of its customers with a comprehensive portfolio of flooring options that can be used throughout a building.

As part of the sponsorship agreement, the Polyflor logo will feature on the front of the Kicks kit which is worn at the various tournaments and friendly games that the Kicks participants take part in. The sponsorship from Polyflor will help OACT confirm their place in next season`s North West Kicks League and contribute towards the associated costs.

The NW Kicks League sees 11 local community trusts play a monthly fixture giving participants a chance to travel outside Oldham, representing their area and Oldham Athletic in a competitive fixture. Last season, the Oldham Athletic Kicks team played in two national tournaments and faced the likes of Liverpool, Everton and Manchester City Kicks in some entertaining and competitive encounters.

In addition to supporting the Kicks project, Polyflor has also continued their partnership with Oldham Athletic’s Junior Supporters Club - The Boundary Blues. The Boundary Blues has been established for many years with an aim of making sure that the young fans have a chance to fully integrate into the Oldham Athletic fan base at an early age and in turn help to create Oldham Athletic fans for life. The Boundary Blues welcomes everyone into the Oldham Athletic family.

Martin Vose, OACT Community Manager commented: “I really would like to thank John Mellor and everyone at Polyflor for their support. The support of local businesses plays a crucial role in our delivery and it`s fantastic to see local businesses supporting a local charity. The support from Polyflor will again greatly assist us in our delivery and without their support over the last 12 months we may not have been able to continue to offer the opportunities that we have done”.

John Mellor, Polyflor Market Manager added: “We are again pleased to be supporting the Oldham Athletic Community Trust.  I know Martin, Wendy and team play a pivotal role in working within the community on really valuable initiatives such as Kicks amongst others. Giving young people a chance of personal development through football can only be a good thing and we are pleased that we can contribute in helping Oldham be represented in the North West Kicks League. As well as this, as a former Junior Latics member myself, I know the importance of trying to attract young supporters that will evolve the club’s fan base over the coming years. I’m pleased Polyflor is able to support the Boundary Blues in their efforts to organise their regular member events and activities, alongside working towards creating a welcoming family environment on match day.”

If you would like to become a member of the Polyflor sponsored Boundary Blues or have family members who would like to join, membership is free if you hold a junior season ticket for Oldham Athletic. There are now over 600 Boundary Blues members, with this number rising weekly.

Boundary Blues members will be automatically entered into the mascot system giving the opportunity for members to lead the team out on match day. Other activities include Christmas and end of season parties where members will meet the Oldham Athletic team as well as Boundary Blues trips to away fixtures.
